Despicable Me 2 Plot

PX-41, a very potent mutagen stolen from a secret laboratory in the Arctic Circle, is stolen by a mystery aircraft disguised as a big magnet. The Anti-Villain League (AVL) director Silas Ramsbottom sent one of his spies, Lucy Wilde, to recruit Gru, a former supervillain. When Gru is forcibly transported to the AVL headquarters, Silas asks him to assist them in finding the guilty and recovering the mutagen. Gru, on the other hand, refuses, claiming to be a father and legitimate company owner. Dr. Nefario, Gru’s friend and helper, leaves him for fresh work, wishing to resume his criminal career. Gru is compelled to investigate the theft and collaborate with Lucy, despite his reluctance. The two are stationed in the Paradise Shopping Mall, in front of a cupcake shop.

Gru suspects Eduardo Pérez, the proprietor of a Mexican restaurant, of being “El Macho,” a supervillain who is said to have died by riding a shark into an active volcano with 250 pounds of TNT strapped to his chest. Gru and Lucy break into Eduardo’s restaurant late at night, but there is no evidence. Meanwhile, Gru’s three adopted daughters, Margo, Edith, and Agnes, all of whom yearn to be mothers, believe Gru will fall in love with Lucy. Gru denies it, claiming that his relationship with Lucy is strictly business.

Despite the fact that Eduardo is his top suspect, Gru agrees to follow up on other leads, including wig vendor Floyd Eaglesan’s shop, where Lucy uncovers PX-41 traces. Gru refocuses his attention on Eduardo after witnessing his son Antonio romance Margo and invite everyone to his Cinco de Mayo party. Lucy helps Gru escape from a disastrous blind date set up by a neighbor, and the two begin to bond. The AVL arrests Floyd the next day after discovering an almost-empty jar of the mutagen in his shop. Lucy is reassigned to Australia by Silas, who wraps up the probe.

Gru pursues Eduardo to the Cinco de Mayo party and realizes that he is actually El Macho. After faking his death, El Macho recruited Dr. Nefario and kidnapped most of Gru’s minions, transforming them into mindless, indestructible monsters using the stolen PX-41 serum. El Macho intends to conquer the world by launching rockets laden with evil Minions into major cities. He gives Gru the opportunity to join his team, but Gru refuses and goes away with the females. El Macho, suspicious, dispatches Kevin, one of his nasty Minions, to track out Gru.

Lucy comes at the party shortly after Gru has left, but she is apprehended by El Macho. Gru arrives to El Macho’s fortress with two of his own disguised Minions after Dr. Nefario informs him of what has occurred. The wicked Minions detect their deception and assault them. In the meantime, Kevin tracks down and attacks the girls at Gru’s house, until Dr. Nefario, who has returned to Gru’s side, arrives with an antidote and restores Kevin’s normalcy. Dr. Nefario injects the antidote into Gru’s jelly stores and rushes to his rescue. Gru, Dr. Nefario, and the females utilize jelly guns to bring all of the Minions back to life. El Macho uses the PX-41 to transform into a monster, but Gru and Dr. Nefario beat him.

Gru tries to save Lucy from El Macho’s TNT-filled shark rocket, but his pet chicken Pollito fires it, sending them flying toward a volcano. Before the rocket explodes in the volcano, Lucy accepts Gru’s request for a date and the two jump into the ocean. Gru and Lucy eventually marry after several dates, providing Margo, Edith, and Agnes a mother.
