Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore Plot

Newt Scamander assists a Qilin – a mystical creature that can see into one’s soul as well as the future — in giving birth in Kweilin, China, in 1932. Credence Barebone leads Gellert Grindelwald’s acolytes in attacking and killing the mother, as well as kidnapping the newborn. Grindelwald then kills the creature in order to have access to its precognitive abilities. However, they were unaware that the Qilin had twins, one of whom Newt saved.

Due to their blood agreement, Albus Dumbledore enlists the help of Newt, Newt’s brother Theseus, Lally Hicks, Senegalese-French wizard Yusuf Kama, American No-Maj Jacob Kowalski, and Newt’s aide Bunty Broadacre to prevent Grindelwald’s ambition for world dominance. Yusuf is installed as a spy in Grindelwald’s inner circle and they travel to Berlin, Germany. Queenie Goldstein, Grindelwald’s convert, uses legilimency to test Yusuf’s integrity. Grindelwald is acquitted of all past criminal charges by the International Confederation of Wizards (ICW), allowing him to run for Supreme Mugwump of (the Head of) the ICW, despite Dumbledore’s efforts to persuade incumbent Supreme Mugwump Anton Vogel differently.

Meanwhile, Grindelwald’s acolytes have destabilized the German Ministry of Magic, arresting Theseus and plotting the assassination of Vicência Santos, the Brazilian Supreme Mugwump candidate. To find Theseus, Dumbledore sends Newt to the Erkstag, a secret German wizarding jail. The assassination is foiled by Lally and Jacob. They manage to flee, but Jacob is falsely accused of attempting to assassinate Grindelwald, which Grindelwald uses to justify turning the Wizarding world against all Muggles. Meanwhile, Credence fights Albus Dumbledore, who overcomes him fast. Credence discovers that he is the illegitimate son of Albus Dumbledore’s brother, Aberforth Dumbledore. Credence then challenges Grindelwald’s commitment. Newt and Theseus, meantime, escape the Erkstag and use a Portkey to get to Hogwarts.

The Walk of the Qilin rite, in which a Qilin picks a worthy new Supreme Mugwump, brings together wizarding global leaders in Bhutan. Dumbledore and Newt are expected to bring the surviving twin Qilin to the ceremony in a bag, according to Grindelwald. Each of Dumbledore’s allies carries an identical bag to foil Grindelwald’s henchmen. Queenie, who has forsaken Grindelwald, finds and reunites with Jacob as the team passes through the village.

Grindelwald resurrects the dead Qilin and manipulates it to choose him during the Supreme Mugwump selection ritual via necromancy. Grindelwald vows war on all Muggles and tortures Jacob right away. Credence, Newt, and Bunty, on the other hand, expose him. Bunty summons the last Qilin, who bows before Dumbledore and declines the post. Santos is then named the new Supreme Mugwump. Grindelwald, enraged, attempts to kill Credence by throwing the killing curse, but Credence is protected at the same time by his father, Aberforth, and Albus (his uncle). The blood covenant is broken when Dumbledore and Grindelwald’s spells collide. The subsequent combat comes to a halt, and Grindelwald vanishes.

In the aftermath, Aberforth welcomes Credence as his son and returns him to his home. The majority of the group, as well as Tina Goldstein, were present at Jacob and Queenie’s wedding at Jacob’s bakery shop in New York City. From across the street, Newt notices Dumbledore. Before going into the night, Dumbledore expresses his gratitude to Newt.
